Alpro is a European company marketing organic, non-GMO[1], soy based food and drink products.

Founded in 1980, as an offshoot of the Vandemoortele Group the company was initially based in Belgium[2], but has expanded throughout Western Europe, by means of new plants or mergers. The company built a new soy milk plant in Kettering in 2000.

The company distributes a range of soy based vegetarian / vegan products under two different brands:

  • The cheaper Alpro Soya[3], where only the used soy beans are certified organic.
  • The 100% organic certified Provamel.[4]

Examples of products include soy milk, soy yogurt, soy cream and soy based desserts.

Recently, Alpro soy milk scored as countrywide best soy milk, when rated by the renowned German Stiftung Warentest.[5]
