100 Grand was a short-lived American game show hosted by game show announcer Jack Clark, with Bill Wendell doing the announcing. It ran in the fall of 1963 on the highly-touted "New ABC". PlayAfter the quiz show scandals of 1958, ABC tried to bring back high stakes game shows with 100 Grand. One contestant, having possessed a knowledge or lead in a specific subject or field, was asked questions by a panel of five professionals for cash and/or prizes. The player surviving without missing a single question had a privilege to answer five questions submitted by viewers at home for a grand prize of $100,000. Episode statusThere is no recollection of any surviving episodes of this short lived series. This was due to wiping, a procedure very popular during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. |
